Speech Audiometry

Speech Audiometry establishes the softest level at which a child can hear and differentiate words. It is a particularly useful secondary examination to confirm the results of a prior hearing test. Here, similar word pairs are played via earphones, with the child being asked to point towards different objects and pictures to identify their understanding. Children of a normal hearing grade should be able distinguish between these words when played at a low level.
